Project Spotlight

Bloom Women's Wellness

The Project

A therapy clinic for which I built the first website in 2021 has grown so much over the last 5 years that it needed a refresh (including a navigation and content overhaul) to reflect the several changes to the business, including offering new services and products. Their new supplement line required a Shopify storefront, so I created that for them, too!

The Big Picture

How it Started

In 2021, Madison Sweet reached out for a website for her new therapy clinic, Bloom Women’s Wellness. At the time, it was only her, but she planned to add more providers, including medication management professionals, to her team in the future. That first site launched and through thoughtful design, content writing, and local SEO strategy, I built a site that was cute and ranked on the first page of Google consistently.

How it Grew

As the years went by, that future became a reality. Bloom expanded to add more providers and services, including labs, prescription providers, and lab services. There’s only so much we can do to future-proof a website when a client grows in so many ways, so in April, I launched the redesigned website, along with its Shopify sister, for their new line of supplements. It included a refreshed look and a completely overhauled navigation to separate providers by team and made it easier for a user to find the side of the clinic they need.

Website Goals

Let Folks Know They’re Not Alone

A big goal of the first website was to share information about common perinatal and postpartum challenges, and to let them know they’re not alone if they or someone they love needs extra support from a counselor. Making sure anyone visiting the site felt welcome immediately was important.

Educate Visitors on Additional Services

As Bloom grew over the years, it now offers provider-led support groups, community events, medication support, functional lab testing, a supplement line, and therapists offering more general support in areas such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. It was imperative that we made it easy for a visitor to find the right path to the area of Bloom that could be of the most help. By reworking the sitemap and rebuilding the navigation, the organization of the site and path for each potential user is made more clear.

Technical Stuff

That Cozy Feeling

By establishing an ethereal, yet professional feel through design and content writing was key to letting a new visitor they’re in the right place. The initial site design pulled peaches and pinks from the client’s logo, but for the new site, we went with softer pinks and yellows to be more in line with their office design, while still coordinating well with their branding overall.

SEO & the Campaign Wrap-Up

Our campaign began in 2021, when the first website launched, and ended in June of 2026. During that time, the ever-encroaching b.s. machine that is AI started making it increasingly difficult for locally owned businesses to compete on Google. However, over a decade of experience in content and SEO strategy continues to serve me and my clients well.

At the end of the campaign, the client’s top 10 local keywords ranked between #1 and #4 on Google. Where they ranked below #1, they were bested by websites largely competing on a bigger stage, including Psychology Today and the University of Iowa. These results point to the fact that ethically building SEO without relying on AI can still work for  local/regional businesses.

Shopify

A website viewed on three devices.

The Shopify store was created to sell their supplement line and functional lab testing. While it was a fairly straightforward build as far as Shopify storefronts go, Bloom had an idea to offer a presale code just before launch and the functional lab testing page required a code because the tests are to be recommended by their providers ahead of a purchase. Since there were no images of the lab tests available, I created images based on their labels, to add some visual interest to the page. As with the WordPress site, I wrote content with SEO best practices in mind at all times.

A Word from the Client

Madison Sweet, Owner of Bloom Women’s Wellness:

“Green Ivy Creative did an absolutely phenomenal job on my website. Erin blew me away with her design, research that she did on my specialty, and overall content. I get so many compliments on my website and she is incredible at what she does. She’s also great at walking you through the entire process and meeting deadlines. Highly recommend and I will be using her for years to come with all of my design needs. Thanks again, Erin for all of your hard work and the talent that you have!”
