Sales Process

I like to be as transparent about my processes as possible so you know what to expect. My sales process for new website designs, content and SEO strategy, and digital marketing work is as follows:

Step 1: The Questionnaire

I send a questionnaire for you to complete that helps tell me more about your business, goals, and hopes for the project.

Step 2: Discovery Call

If we agree that we might be a good fit, this free 15-minute call helps us learn more about each other and discuss more of your goals in detail.

Step 3: Strategy Meeting

This happens when we think a partnership could work. It’s usually an hour long and costs $250. We talk about the project in detail, share ideas, and more. After the meeting, I’ll send the proposal.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my project take?

I don’t set concrete timelines for website design projects because there are so many moving parts, including client availability and response time. However, I work quickly, and my sweet spot for a new website from start to finish is 6-8 weeks.

Do you guarantee project timelines?

Because there are so many factors outside of my control, including but not limited to client availability, response times, approval times, timely payment, and more, I do not guarantee project timelines. My team and I do not get paid in full until the project is complete and ready to launch and work efficiently, so I’m often the one bugging my clients to respond (kindly, of course).

Who does the work?

I handle research, content strategy, content writing, SEO strategy, site design, and light development. My freelance developers, Laura and Bryan, handle the more intense development work, potential domain or hosting questions outside of my expertise, and site launches. Typically only one developer is assigned to a project at a time.

When you speak with me, you speak with the person building your site. When a development question comes up, my developers step in to handle it. If I don’t know the answer to something, I’ll let you know and get to work on the solution.

What are your thoughts on generative AI?

I’m a writer and artist at heart. I love the Oxford comma and using em dashes as they should be used (these existed long before generative AI, by the way). I also believe in writing as we speak and not being afraid to get messy. I love what I do and do not purposely use generative AI to do any part of my job.* My freelance developers feel the same, as do any branding designers I may recommend. That said, if we grab a stock image, we do our best to make sure it’s not AI, and are good at sussing it out, but something may slip through.

Do you ever write website content for sites you don’t design?

Yes! I’ve written content and handled local SEO strategy for websites I didn’t design and I’m open to this kind of partnership when the team assembled is a good fit.
